Sometimes conditions just don’t agree with you. The weather doesn’t care if you have planned a sunset shoot… Sometimes you just have to roll with it.
Denver’s City Park is one of my favorite spots in the city. I love the view of the Queen City skyline, the lake, and the reflection on the back windows of The Museum of Nature and Science. It is an oasis in the city and I love to shoot there as much as possible. When our crew rolled up, we weren’t sure if we were going to catch the magic golden hour light I had planned the whole shoot around because some dark clouds started rolling in. Fast. They seemed to promise rain, but we weren’t going to let them ruin our shoot. The results were some diffused and moody lighting that provided some interesting contrast to the pastel cherry tree blossoms.
JJ and Rebecca were a blast and our shoot was full of jokes and big laughs. JJ and Rebecca are both music teachers and they are some of my oldest friends. In fact, JJ officiated my wedding back in 2012. So when they approached me to do a shoot, I jumped a the opportunity! We wanted to capture some couple photos as well as some individual shots for upcoming musical projects. These two have so many irons in the fire, it’s hard to keep track of it all. Keep your eyes peeled for their eventual musical world domination…
These two are some fine musicians, pub trivia masters, and overall excellent humans.
